Description
Delivering a rich palate incorporating fresh and vibrant Chardonnay fruit characters; apple and nectarine with Pinot Noir adding power and lifted strawberry notes. The wine has a creamy, almond brioche finish and a fine mousse.
The Story
Established in 1976 Petaluma is built upon the old world belief of planting the right varieties for individual vineyards in regions where they excel. The Petaluma wines are a singular exploration of this founding belief and this pioneering attitude towards viticulture and winemaking remains as uncompromising and true today as it did over 35 years ago.
Croser sparkling wines encapsulate handcrafted Australian elegance in the bottle, using pristine Adelaide Hills fruit with great natural acidity and elegant flavours.
The Wine
Croser Non Vintage Sparkling stays true to the ââ¬ÃÂaperitifâ≢ style of Croser Vintage while signalling an evolution of the Petaluma Croser house style. The wine is a blend of the current vintage Croser with reserve wine from several older vintages, with each vintage adding distinctive qualities to the final blend.
The wine showcases a rich, full blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected sites in the cool climate Piccadilly Valley and other parts of the Adelaide Hills. Hand-picked fruit is whole bunch pressed or crushed and pressed, with the free run juice then fermented using Petaluma's specially selected yeast strain in barrique and tank.

â∠ÂHas more exuberant fruit than the traditional Croser style; stone fruit, citrus and a hint of strawberry are held in a basket of brioche, dosage spot on, the length impressive.ââˆJames Halliday, 2011.
"The first Croser NV is a fine debut in a fresh, crisp style with Pink Lady apple fruit, zesty lemon structure and some brioche complexity. With seamless length, this is a very classy aperitif style." WBM, Tyson Stelzer, 2010.
