Description
Zesty tropical fruits and just a hint of grassy, herbal notes, this wine has a lovely mouthfeel and terrific length of flavour.
Pocketwatch Sauvignon Blanc continues the Oatley family history of fine craftsmanship. Our winemakers have blended a number of parcels of night-harvested grapes from vineyards across South-Western Australia and fermented the wine with cultured yeasts in stainless steel tanks, to create an appealing fresh, fruit driven dry white wine. Displaying Sauvignon Blanc's hallmark pale appearance, zesty tropical fruits and just a hint of grassy, herbal notes, this wine has a lovely mouth-feel and terrific length of flavour.
Pocketwatch wines pay tribute to Bob's great great grandfather James Oatley. One of Australia's early convict settlers, James was a master watch and clock maker who was soon pardoned by Governor Macquarie, appointed Keeper of the Sydney Town Hall Clock and commissioned to install the still functioning turret clock in the pediment of the Hyde Park Barracks. As part of his remuneration he received a number of land grants from Governor Brisbane, including a 300 acre lot that is now the southern Sydney suburb of Oatley.
