Description
Sumptuous and velvety shiraz with complexity and spicy characteristics. Flavours of berries, plums and baking spices swirl on the palate with a touch of mocha on the lasting firm finish.
A number of richly flavoured parcels of grapes from the Oatley vineyards in the Central Ranges of NSW are used to expertly craft the French oak inspired Pocketwatch Shiraz. This shiraz is rich and velvety with a spicy hit and flavours of juicy berries and plums.
Pocketwatch wines pay tribute to Bob's great great grandfather James Oatley. One of Australia's early convict settlers, James was a master watch and clockmaker who was soon pardoned by Governor Macquarie, appointed Keeper of the Sydney Town Hall Clock and commissioned to install the still functioning turret clock in the pediment of the Hyde Park Barracks. As part of his remuneration he received a number of land grants from Governor Brisbane, including a 300 acre lot that is now the southern Sydney suburb of Oatley.
