Description
Musk, violets and sour plum jam on the nose with a fine tannic spine with juicy acid. Packed full of black cherry and cedars notes with the perfect balance.
The Yarra Valley is renowned for producing amazing Pinot Noir. Innocent Bystander emanates from the brain child of owner, Phil Sexton. With winemaker Steve Flamsteed on board, the Innocent Bystander wines are fantastically varietal and extremely approachable. The Pinot Noir is packed full of black cherry and cedary notes with a perfect balance of soft, but fine grained tannin. This young Yarra Valley pinot noir deserves to be enjoyed with gusto. It's almost like an Australian translation of Frances beaujolais cru style, deliciously drinkable, uncomplicated and fresh.
Established in 2004 by Phil Sexton, Innocent Bystander is an independent winery focused on producing flavour-driven wines from carefully selected vineyards in the Yarra Valley and beyond. The winery is built around gravity flow principles and designed for small-batch wine making. With each vintage these wines have developed in complexity and texture with a great understanding and use of wild fermentations and restrained oak handling. Naturally produced wines made without compromise with the objective of each wine being a faithful expression of site and vintage.
